A lacemaker friend pointed me to a couple of things recently. and I realized that it would help to have a post with links to helpful information sites and references we can use. I’ll edit this as they come along.

General lace types information:

Lace Types | A Historical Guide to European laces. Jean Leader’s site, whose book on Lace Identifican should be very helpful.

Sprang: A Taste of the Sprang Technique with Carol James

There’s a video here with an introduction to Sprang, but in the video and underneath there are a bunch of books that are good for the Sprang page. Carol also has a recent book on charted patterns of historical pieces: Mme. Lemye’s Lace, Volume 1. More books by Carol James with patterns.

More to come….
